Dhalia’s Training Centre the FIRST to be Accredited!

Last updated: 21.11.2022

With the enactment of the ‘Real Estate Agents, Property Brokers and Property Consultants Act, 2020’, the mandatory certification of property consultant, broker, estate agent, and management roles were set, in a significant step to regulate the industry. All property specialists are obligated to procure a license by the 31st of December 2021.

To obtain a licence, one must be over 18 years of age, hold a recognised certificate, as well as meet certain financial requirements – the person must not be bankrupt or be deemed unfit to carry out this activity in the interests of the public due to their conduct, repute or financial position.

There are licences available for four types of roles: Real Estate Agents, Property Brokers, Branch Managers, and Property Consultants.

The qualification process varies according to the position one would like to acquire in the industry. Once these courses have been completed, and the licenses granted, they will be valid for 5 years. A licensing board has been set up to keep track of those who are licensed. The courses are between 8 and 12 points on the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS).

To acquire a licence for a Real Estate Agent, Property Broker or Branch Manager role, one must hold a certificate in real estate that involves the legal, economic, procedural, and communication matters related to real estate, its marketing, and sale. The certificate must be credited a minimum of 12 ECTS at level 4 of the Malta Qualifications Framework attained from a training institution licensed by MFHEA.

To acquire a licence for a Property Consultant role, one must hold a certificate in real estate that involves the legal, economic, procedural, and communication matters related to real estate, its marketing, and sale. The certificate must be credited a minimum of 8 ECTS at level 4 of the Malta Qualifications Framework attained from a training institution licensed by the MFHEA.

At Dhalia Real Estate Services, we will be training our Property Consultants to obtain their real estate licence. Our training centre is in line with the recently enacted legal framework to grant agents their licence. We have been licenced by the Malta Further & Higher Education Authority (MFHEA) as a Further Education Institution to further support the work of our training centre. It is Dhalia’s initiative to offer courses that can be certified by the MFHEA and are aligned to the Malta Qualifications Network.

The first accredited course being offered here at Dhalia is The Real Estate Branch Manager Award, an MQF Level 4 (12 ECTS) course, with an exit point for The Real Estate Consultant Award, an MQF Level 4 (8 ECTS), which is a legal requirement for real estate branch managers and consultants to obtain their licence.

Dhalia has always put employees’ education at the head of its business strategy. New property consultants are given a induction course on the inner workings of the property industry, as well as how one can work effectively and successfully. Our course topics include:
